Windows 12: Microsoft's AI-First Future

Windows 12 (expected as a major 2026–27 update) is less a new look and more a new brain. Here's what's actually changing for everyday users:

• AI agents do chores: Tell Windows "find my hotel booking and add it to my calendar" and it does it across apps. Think of it as a secretary that lives in the taskbar.
• Recall (search everything): Windows keeps a searchable memory of what you saw — every document, website, and meeting. Powerful for finding that thing you lost; controversial for privacy (it's encrypted and on-device, but you can turn it off).
• Modular design: The core of Windows gets rebuilt so updates are smaller and faster — fewer "working on updates" screens at 9 AM.
• Arm processors everywhere: More Windows laptops will use phone-style chips (Qualcomm, and soon Intel/AMD versions) — all-day battery, always connected, but check that your specific apps support them.

Practical advice: You don't need to rush. Windows 11 support runs until 2027+, and the first version of anything AI-heavy is usually half-baked. Upgrade when your hardware needs replacing, not before.
